Sign in with Google, Microsoft and more
Create a SalesOS account or sign in with Google, Microsoft, Apple, LinkedIn or GitHub, connect more than one way to sign in, and set a password for a social-only account.
If your SalesOS site has social sign-in turned on, the sign-in and sign-up pages show buttons such as Continue with Google above the email form. One click signs you in, and you don't need another password. Which buttons appear depends on what your SalesOS administrator has set up. The providers are Google, Microsoft, Apple, LinkedIn and GitHub.
Signing up with a social account
- Open the sign-up page and click Continue with your provider, for example Continue with Google.
- Pick the account to use. The first time, the provider asks whether to share your name and email address with SalesOS. Allow it.
- You land on Finish setting up. It shows which account you signed in with. Check your name, add a company or workspace name if you like, and click Create workspace. If your admin gave you an organization code, choose Join with a code and enter it instead.
Your email address is verified automatically, so there is no verification email. Your free trial starts as soon as the workspace is created, the same as with an email sign-up.
If SalesOS is in a private pilot, sign-up needs a pilot invite or an organization code. Open the link in your invite email first, then click the provider button on that page. A pilot invite is tied to one email address, so use the social account that has that address.
Joining a team from an invitation
If a teammate invited you, open the invitation link from your email. Under the invitation details, click Continue with your provider. When the provider account has the same email address as the invitation, your account is created and you join the team straight away. If you already have a SalesOS account, the button signs you in and you can then click Accept Invitation.
Signing in
Click Continue with your provider on the sign-in page. If your account uses two-factor authentication, SalesOS still asks for your 6-digit code afterwards. Social sign-in never skips it.
If your organization requires single sign-on for your email domain, use Continue with single sign-on instead. The social buttons can't be used for those addresses.
"An account already uses this email address"
SalesOS only signs you in to an existing account straight away when the provider vouches for the address. Google vouches for Gmail and Google Workspace addresses, and Microsoft for verified work domains and Outlook.com addresses. Apple vouches for iCloud addresses and Hide My Email relay addresses. Otherwise SalesOS asks you to prove the account is yours first:
- Sign in once with your email and password. If you've forgotten the password, use Forgot password?.
- SalesOS opens Settings → Security with the provider highlighted. Click Connect followed by the provider name.
From then on the provider button signs you straight in.
Managing your sign-in methods
Open Settings → Security (/dashboard/settings/security). The Sign-in methods card lists:
- Password: whether your account has one.
- Each connected provider, with the account's email address, when you connected it and when you last used it.
To connect another provider, click its Connect button under Connect another account. You sign in to the provider and come back to the same page. You can connect one account per provider.
To remove a provider, click Disconnect next to it and confirm. You can't disconnect your only way to sign in. Set a password or connect another provider first.
Setting a password for a social-only account
An account created with a social provider has no password. To add one, click Set a password in the Sign-in methods card, enter it twice and click Set password. Passwords must be at least 12 characters and include an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a number and a symbol.
You need a password to turn off two-factor authentication or to delete your account, so set one before you do either.
If you try to sign in with an email and password on an account that has no password, the sign-in page tells you which provider the account uses. You can also use Forgot password? to get a reset link and choose a password that way.
When something goes wrong
The sign-in page explains each problem and what to do next:
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| Sign-in was cancelled | You closed the provider's window or declined. Try again. |
| The sign-in took too long or finished in a different browser | Start again in one browser tab. Sign-in links last 10 minutes. |
| The email address isn't verified | Verify the address with the provider, or use your email and password. |
| The provider didn't share an email address | Allow SalesOS to see your email address when the provider asks. |
| Sign-in is limited to certain email domains | Your admin limited that provider to company addresses. Use your email instead. |
| New accounts can't be created with this provider | Sign up with your email, or ask your admin. |
| That account is already connected to a different SalesOS account | Sign in to the other SalesOS account and disconnect it there first. |
For anything else, see Account & Sign-in or Getting help. Administrators set up providers as described in Social sign-in for admins.
